HERE’S WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE WRITING OF DARRYL JAMES:

"I’ve known Darryl James since the early 1990’s. Over the years, he has never shied away from taking an unpopular position if he believes that it is the right thing to do or say. Darryl’s writing helps to spark much-needed dialogue and has such an edge to it, that even when you don’t agree, it compels you to take a moment and think about it."
--Tavis Smiley Author, Television & Radio Host

"Much respect for your work -- even when it stings me!"
--Michael Eric Dyson, educator, author, radio host

"Darryl James is a prolific writer who has been putting out some of the most intellectual-stimulating and thought-provoking literary work for the past few years. Now that he has decided to provide his readership with a compilation of some of his best work, I would recommend his book to all progressive-minded readers."
--Danny J. Bakewell Sr., Executive Publisher, Los Angeles Sentinel

"Darryl evokes a real response when you read what he writes. His writing gets to you--no question about it. It’s evocative, not just provocative. It will leave you with an opinion and you will either be ready to meet him or kill him."
--Judge Mablean Ephriam, author, lecturer, television personality

"With his entertaining and in your face writings, Darryl James has branded himself as a thinking man who will make the reader do the same thing. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that his secret mission in life is to do just that: make people think!"
-- Lee Bailey/EURweb.com & RadioScope

"What makes Darryl James head over heels better than the "empty suits" of his generation is that he speaks common sense truth. Darryl is a critical thinker who "keeps it real." He is a clever and prolific writer who has no problem taking folks "out to the woodshed" when they need it--something that I find refreshing and long overdue. The real genius of Darryl is his ability to speak to almost any issue and connect with women as easily as he can with men. Listen up people, Darryl James is here to stay."
--Gary A. Johnson, Founder & Publisher, Black Men In America.com, The Premier Online Magazine for Black Men (and Women). www.blackmeninamerica.com

"Darryl James' writing style is nothing short of extraordinary. As you flip through the pages of his latest masterpiece, stand prepared for a life changing experience that will more than meet your expectations."
--Elvin J. Dowling, Vice President of the National Urban League

The essays in "Notes" deal with race, politics, religion, relationships and life after the Civil Rights era in an up-front and in-your-face manner established as pure Darryl James in his weekly syndicated column, his books, lectures and freelance writing over the past decade.

James has lectured for the National Council of Negro Women, the National Urban League, the Annual Book Fair and Conference in Chicago, The Black American Law Students Association (as well as their counterpart in Canada) and the NAACP, in addition to a tour of radio stations, colleges and universities.

Darryl James in 2008:

This year is turning out to be a full year, with more opportunities than expected. So much so, that some have to be placed later in the year and some into 2009.

For example, The Black Love Tour will continue in the Fall of 2008. Who’s Your Daddy?--the documentary and the book--will be released in the Summer with a trailer and teaser available in time for Father’s Day. And, the second installment of Bridging The Black Gender Gap will be released in the Fall of this year.

But here’s what is already hot or soon to be released:

What Black Men Think—cutting edge documentary from Janks Morton, featuring commentary from yours truly. What Black Men Think takes on popular myths including the lie about there being more Black men in prison that college, which I’ve tackled in my weekly column. This film provides an in depth view of how myths, stereotypes and misrepresentations render Black men non-necessities in their communities and families. Buy this film and play it for the people in your life who need to listen to Black men speak for themselves. Too many others have spoken for us.

James uses surveys, research and his own collected data to burst dating myths and provide qualified advice. Also features commentary from other qualified professionals and “man-on-the-street” commentary from average African American men and women.
